Fundraising Party of AVON Walk for Breast Cancer

Saturday, July 17th, 6 - 9p

Please join us for refreshments, wine, silent auction and friends, as we support a cure for breast cancer. Smith will walk 39.3 miles each on September 11th and 12th, with all funds benefiting local and national efforts to end breast cancer. The AVON walk is one of the largest fundraising initiatives in the country for breast cancer.

Jennifer Smith:
“I have decided to participate in the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer for a few reasons. A fact that is a grim reality is that a woman has a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime.  First off I would like to be part of something that is larger than myself. Second, in November of 2006 my best friend’s mother lost her courageous battle with Breast Cancer. I saw the horror and pain that one goes through when they fight and unfortunately lose their battle with the disease. I suppose the main goal that I have is to help raise money to find a cure for breast cancer so no individual has to look themselves in the mirror and say the words “I have breast cancer.”  I would also like to be part of the cure so no mother has to lose her daughter to breast cancer nor a daughter lose her mother to breast cancer where her children will not have the opportunity to meet or know their mother or grandmother because of breast cancer.  Thank you for your support.”
