Susan Colla
Susan Colla, a lifelong resident of Ventura, has been teaching voice lessons to adults and children for 30 years! Wife, mother of two and grandmother of two more, she rediscovered her artistic talent after a 20 year hiatus. Colla credits her immersion in art for much of her strength as she’s overcome serious health problems. Self-taught, much of her work is portrait commissions, especially pet portraits. She has a particular talent for drawing newborn babies and young children. She also renders lifelike images of wild animals, especially lions and other African animals. Working from high resolution photos, she reproduces them with pencil in her detailed photorealistic form.
Siyooj Maroly
Born and raised in a small town in India, Siyooj Maroly was hugely inspired by the local festivals as he worked for his parent’s spice business in his teenage years. After getting his degree in engineering in India, he left his hometown and family to take a job as a tool engineer in Thailand. Several years later, he was transferred to Goleta, CA and taught small art classes right in his apartment! One of his coworkers, Anvita, and her young daughter, Aarya, began taking his art lessons. Aarya quickly became enamored with Maroly, even asking him to be her Dad! She got her wish as Maroly and Anvita were married just a few months later. Maroly does commissions of people and pets, and continues to teach art lessons. Fox Fine Jewelry is proud to present Maroly’s first art show.
