Fox Fine Jewelry grew out of George Fox’s love of jewelry making.

Early years

At age 16, George began working in silver and displaying in local fairs, discovering his talent. So he trained with a highly regarded jeweler before opening his own store in the 1980’s in Los Angeles. In 1986, George closed his store to devote himself to becoming a GIA Graduate Gemologist, later moving to Bakersfield. There, he operated a successful trade shop, doing repairs and custom orders for local jewelry stores.

George and Debbie get married

George’s wife Debbie grew up studying the arts before pivoting to business, becoming a CPA. In 1990, Debbie moved to Bakersfield to be with George, and shortly after they married.

In time, Debbie transitioned out of public accounting, assisting George with his business as their three daughters were born: Karen, Niki, and Charlotte.

Fox Fine Jewelry moves to Ventura

In 1998 George and Debbie moved to Ventura and opened Fox Fine Jewelry in downtown Ventura, CA. Their “showroom” was tiny: 100 square feet!

In 2001, Fox Fine Jewelry moved down Main Street, across from the Mission. At 1,100 square feet, it was a spacious in comparison, but Fox Fine Jewelry outgrew this store too!

In 2014 Fox Fine Jewelry moved to their current location, a historic building they refurbished at 560 East Main Street in the heart of downtown Ventura.

Awards and giving back

After moving, the store continued to flourish. In 2015 Fox Fine Jewelry received the top nationwide award in the jewelry industry, InStore's “Coolest Store in the country.”

In response to the Thomas and Woolsey Fires and the Borderline Shooting, Fox Fine Jewelry gave over 900 custom diamond necklaces to people impacted by the events. They also sold them, raising nearly $70,000 for victims.  Community Involvement

Second generation

Fast forward to now: George and Debbie’s three daughters are an integral part of Fox Fine Jewelry. They grew up in the business, helping from very young ages, taking on more responsibilities as they grew.

Today, Karen is the workshop manager, and creates custom jewelry. Niki is a GIA Graduate Gemologist who handles marketing, gems, and jewelry purchasing. Charlotte works in systems and office management. Fox Fine Jewelry truly is a family business!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Although I live in Westlake Village surrounded by a dozen jewelers, for the past 15 years I've been making the drive to Ventura to see Debbie and George for all my jewelry needs. Whether it's redesigning and modernizing older pieces, shopping for contemporary or estate pieces, or just a minor repair, Fox is truly family. Their staff is extraordinary, and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else."
