Art Show "Collage Lab" By The Collage Lab Artist Group
Reception: Sat., July 18th 5-7PM

Collage Lab's Story
The Collage Lab is a small, informal group of artists exploring collage and mixed media. Formed in 2014 in Ventura as an independent offshoot of the Buenaventura Art Association, the group meets monthly to share ideas, set creative challenges, demonstrate techniques, visit exhibitions, and support one another’s work.
Working in collage - derived from the French word “coller,” meaning to glue - the artists combine paper and a wide range of materials. Many members came to collage from other disciplines, including painting, printmaking, photography, textiles, and sculpture, bringing varied approaches into the medium.
Their group exhibitions reflect this range, with each artist interpreting collage through their own materials, processes, and perspective. Members are active in local arts organizations, teach and attend workshops, and exhibit both individually and as a group throughout Southern California.
