When the Thomas fire struck Ventura County in late 2017, it was shocking and horrific. Fox Fine Jewelry decided to help by giving a free, custom-designed diamond necklace to anyone whose home or business was burned in the fire. The necklaces were designed to represent strength and feature aspects of our local communities.
Then more tragedies struck, so we again gave free necklaces for those in the Montecito Slides, the Hill and Woolsey fire.
If you lost your home or business in the Woolsey Fire, Hill Fire, Thomas Fire or Montecito Debris Flows, please come in for your free diamond necklace. Select from the SoCal Strong, the Ventura Wave, the Ojai Mountains, the Montecito Islands, or the Thrive 805. To receive your free necklace, just stop in with your photo ID.
If you are a friend or family member of someone whose home or business has been burned, you may pick up their necklace for them. You can also order by phone, but the necklaces must be picked up in-store. You must have their name, address and either their phone or email. You can show us a photo of their Driver's License or utility bill. We are sorry, but free necklaces are not available online.
A survivor might have their wedding ring, but usually no other jewelry. For many, this Strong Necklace was the beginning of their new jewelry collection. Many wear it daily as a reminder that they can, and will, get through this difficult process.
The necklaces worn by people in the community create an immediate bond with others when they see them on each other. We are stronger together!
In the months following the fires, Fox Fine Jewelry sold Strong necklaces and donated 50% of sales to the charities supporting those whose homes were burned. Nearly $70,000 was donated from necklace sales - thank you to the community for your support!
