Karen Fox at her workbench in Fox Fine Jewelry's workshop

Jeweler and Manager

Karen runs our state-of-the-art workshop, designs new pieces and repairs family heirlooms. As shop manager, she oversees the creative life cycle of custom jewelry entirely in-house, from CAD, to casting, to the final polish, transforming clients’ jewelry dreams into heirlooms.

Education and Certifications

Karen Fox grew up in the jewelry industry, learning alongside her father, Certified Master Bench Jeweler George Fox. By 20, she was designing jewelry using computer modeling.

After earning her BA in Design, she trained at the highly regarded New Approach School for Jewelers and studied under Kent Raible. She is a GIA certified Graduate Diamonds specialist, and is continuing her education.

Awards and Community

In 2026, Karen was awarded Jewelers of America’s prestigious 20 under 40 Retailers, which honors the 20 top rising talents in the retail jewelry industry. This honor celebrates rising professionals who exemplify leadership skills and highlight the best and brightest rising talent in the industry.

After wildfires devastated Southern California, Karen designed diamond necklaces, free to those who lost their homes in the local fires. To date, Fox Fine Jewelry has given away over 1,000 necklaces, and raised $70,000 for fire relief.

One of Jewelry’s Highest Honors

In 2026, Karen received the Beatrice Shipley Scholarship, one of the industry’s highest honors. Awarded to just one recipient annually, it provides a full path to earning both a GIA Graduate Gemologist and AGS Certified Gemologist designation.
